Prioritise, Reorganise & Restructure

How are you all getting on during this Covid-19 time (April 2020)?

Whilst we are unable to work during this time in a face to face capacity, and things remain uncertain, I am utilising this time to prioritise, reorganise and restructure aspects of the business. I thought i would share this important business tool with you all.

So what do i mean by prioritise, reorganise and restructure? I will break this down.

These are things you can be thinking of now in preparation for when you return to work.

What things do you want to change within your business, if any? I have heard from so many people that whilst they cannot wait to get back to their lives, so many people have realised that some things do need to change. One of my main things to change is the number of hours i work, and how these hours spill into late evenings, and weekends, which i would very much like to value as family time and my 'down' time. A time to recoup and recharge :-)

And of course, you can utilise this in all areas of life too, as we all need to maintain balance in our lives.

Prioritise

Focus on tasks with potential to bring in income or to improve your services. What tasks do you do that perhaps you could streamline? What tasks could you automate? What services would bring you regular income, such as, loyalty schemes, refer a friend scheme? How can you get your clients/customers to help you bring in new clients/customers?

Reorganise

How could you change the way in which your business is organised? Can you outsource some work to free up more time and space for more important (or enjoyable) tasks? What tasks do you do that perhaps are not so important or necessary that you could eliminate or fine tune? Are your tasks just keeping you busy?

Restructure

How can you strengthen and restructure your business? How could you make it more profitable or better organised for its present needs? What patterns could you change? How could you make the business more 'leaner' and more efficient. Sometimes, business can get overwhelming, and there never seems to be enough hours in the day! So sometimes it is good to strip your business back, strip out the deadwood in order to move it forward in a more productive way. Are you paying debt for your business? Can this be converted to another kind of debt to be paid at a later date in order for you to keep afloat, especially in these uncertain times right now. I am a big fan of Martin Lewis, the money saving expert.

I use a planner, and i work with the 3 MIT's method too, to keep myself focused and motivated. See my other blog on the 3 MIT's.

Now is always a good time to plan for your future and make those changes that you feel you need to. We only have this one life, so lets make the most of it.

Stay safe :-)
